Vojtěch Veškrna. My Air Force
The project My Air Force is Veškrna’s film of Czech Republic Airforce pilot Jan Tvrdik performing flight formations using only his hands. As a child Veškrna often imagined his hands as airplanes as a youthful escapist fantasy. This film, from his ongoing project My Air Force, is an extension of this childhood fascination into his current practice. The film also brings to mind the virtual flight of video games or drone warfare.
Vojtěch Veškrna was born in 1988, currently he is based in Warsaw. He describes himself as a person who has interest in everything, loves the manner structures and the world work, and uses art to approach things that are fascinating to him. Veškrna graduated from Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic. Last year he self-published his first book MyAirForce containing pictures from Czech military air bases as well as from his childhood.
