Unidentified objects at MEK – construction and photo workshops
Workshops for children aged 6–12
How big is the universe? How to move at light speed? How do we know something is close or far? During the workshops physics will meet imaginary visions of the world and the universe. The combination of mathematical thoroughness and craft workmanship will be key for creating outstanding intergalactic vehicles. The activity involving imagination and optics will result in a collection of extraordinary structures and photographs.
The works made by the workshop participants will be presented at the exhibition in the Ethnographic Museum during Krakow Photomonth.

Microcosm around us
Workshops for children aged 6–12
What is hidden in a grass stem? What does an insect wing look like when magnified and what does it resemble? We will have a closer look at popular meadow inhabitants and check who lives in tree bark. We will play with scale and optics to discover an unusual world.

Museum bestiary
Workshops for children aged 6–12
What are the sources of our knowledge of animals from remote regions? Does an image always reflect the reality? How do words influence our perception of things? Meeting with extraordinary creatures from folk tales, reports of old time travellers, and museum storerooms. Creating a museum bestiary of personally prepared monsters.

Trapped in science
Workshops for children aged 6–12
How do we know what we know? What is knowledge? Who decides of what is true? How to collect evidence? Discussion on how we perceive the surrounding reality and what is the role of various information sources in this process. A visit in museum archives and watching a collection documenting unexplained events.
